Support Services Division
The Mission of the Kent County Sheriff Department Support Services Division is to provide logistical and technical support to all employees of the Kent County Sheriff Department and serves the public through the operations of Records Management, Special Event Coordination, Traffic/Safety Unit, Emergency Communications Center, Training Unit, and the Community Policing Unit. We will provide our employees the best available training, education, work environment, equipment, and leadership so they may serve the citizens of Kent County to the best of their ability.
Current Command Staff
Capt. Alan Roetman
Overall command of the Support Services Division, reports to the Office of the Sheriff.
Lt. Russ Larson
Reports to Captain Roetman and is responsible for Special Events, Community Police Officers, School Resources Officers, 416 Traffic Unit, Volunteer Groups, Background Investigations/Recruitment
Lt. Deanna Bergstrom
Reports to Captain Roetman and is responsible for Records Unit, Traffic & Safety Office/Deputy, MDT’s and charge guard for Patrol/CPU Cruisers, WatchGuard DVR system, CJIS compliance, TIMS, Wrecker contracts
Lt. Joel Roon
Reports to Captain Roetman and is responsible for All areas of training, Training Consortium liaison, Traffic Squad liaison, Uniform and equipment oversight, Training facilities, Department PIO and other outreach duties, Technical Support Unit (TSU), Rescue Task Force
