Support Services Division
The Mission of the Kent County Sheriff Department Support Services Division is to provide logistical and technical support to all employees of the Kent County Sheriff Department and serves the public through the operations of Records Management, Special Event Coordination, Traffic/Safety Unit, Emergency Communications Center, Training Unit, and the Community Policing Unit. We will provide our employees the best available training, education, work environment, equipment, and leadership so they may serve the citizens of Kent County to the best of their ability.
Current Command Staff
Capt. Bryan Muir
Overall command of the Support Services Division, reports to the Office of the Sheriff.
Lt. Pete Gerkin
Reports to Bryan Muir and is responsible for Community Police Officers, School Resources Officers, 416 Traffic Unit, Cadets Program, Internships Program, Volunteer Groups, Background Investigations/Recruitment, Community Outreach.
Lt. Deanna Bergstrom
Reports to Bryan Muir and is responsible for Records Unit, Traffic & Safety Office, Axon Camera systems, cruiser technology, CJIS compliance, TIMS, Wrecker contracts, Freedom of Information requests (FOIA), technology projects.
Lt. Randy Kieft
Reports to Bryan Muir and is responsible for all areas of training, Training Consortium liaison, Traffic Squad liaison, Uniform and equipment oversight, Training facilities, Use of Force review, Mobile Field Force commander, and Special Events.
