Health Department

Dental Services

Overview

Smiling seems to come naturally for some people. But those pearly whites are also major indicators of health and well-being. There is more scientific evidence than ever before linking oral health with overall health and chronic illness. The Kent County Health Department (KCHD) worked to find a way to make dental care accessible to all residents.

KCHD partners with My Community Dental Centers (MCDC) to provide dental services. While many dentists do not accept Medicaid insurance for dental services, My Community Dental Centers does. My Community Dental Centers also offers discounted services for people that are uninsured or underinsured.

Thank You

The partnership is due in large part to the leadership of Kent County’s Board of Commissioners, the City of Kentwood, and a very generous philanthropic community.  More than a dozen organizations shared our vision for providing this essential service to our community.
