The Kent County Animal Shelter (KCAS) works to pair animals with new, loving homes. Animals that are available for adoption are posted on Petfinder.com. When you find a pet you want to meet, please see the side bar for walk-in adoption hours.
Adoption applications can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
Adoption fees support the cost for care while the animal is in the shelter. This may include room/board, vaccines, and spay/neuter surgery.
Kittens (under 4 months) - $40.00
Cats (4 months and over) - $5.00
Dogs - $130.00 + License Fee
What is Needed to Adopt
- a completed adoption survey
- a drivers license or state ID to verify name and address
Please note that animals are living creatures and as such cannot come with a guarantee of perfect health or behavior.
Remember that when you bring a new pet into your home, there will always be a period of adjustment – for you, and for your new pet – while your pet becomes familiar with the sounds, smells, and people in your home, and with your household routine. If you have questions about your pet’s adjustment, please contact the shelter at 616.632.7300.
Adoption refunds will not be granted. KCAS will provide exchanges for adoption at its sole discretion.
