Close Kent County 63rd District Court COVID-19 Notice
Following the Declaration of Emergency by Governor Whitmer regarding the spread of the COVID-19 virus and pursuant to Order of the Michigan Supreme Court,
the 63rd District Court is limiting access to courtrooms and other spaces to no more than 10 persons, including staff; practicing social distancing; and limiting court activity to only essential functions. Administrative Order 2020-2
All non-essential matters are
adjourned to a date after May 1, 2020. See Administrative Order 2020-2. Parties will receive their new dates by mail.
Evictions are prohibited except as set forth in the Governor's
Executive Order 2020-19.
Court staff are helping the public by email and telephone. The lobby is closed and there is no in-person assistance.
There is no entry for anyone who:
Displays signs or symptoms of a respiratory infection, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat.
Has a diagnosis of COVID-19
Is under investigation for COVID-19
In the last 14 days, has had contact with someone with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19, or under investigation for COVID-19, or who is ill with respiratory illness.
Has travelled internationally within the last 14 days.
Payments may be made at https://www.accesskent.com/Courts/63dc/ or by mail to the court. Pleadings must be mailed to the court with the filing fee.
In all matters, the court will utilize remote appearances to the greatest extent possible.
