    2020 Delinquent Property Tax Foreclosure Timeline

    1. March 2, 2021
      • Unpaid 2020 Property taxes become “delinquent” (turned over from local cities and townships) and payable to Kent County Treasurer.
      • 4% administration fee & 1% interest is added
      • 1% interest added on 1st day of every month based on base tax
    2. October 1, 2021
      • $15 Certified mailing fee added
    3. March 1, 2022
      • FORFEITURE
      • $235 Forfeiture fee. Interest increased to 1.5%, retroactive back to original date of delinquency.
    4. September 1, 2022
      • $45 Personal Visit fee added
    5. December 1, 2022
      • $50 Publication fee added and insert in Grand Rapids Press.
    6. March 31, 2023
      • FORECLOSURE
      • Final payment date to avoid foreclosure.
      • ALL REDEMPTION RIGHTS EXPIRE AT END OF BUSINESS DAY!
