  • 2023 Delinquent Property Tax Foreclosure Timeline
    • March 1, 2024
      • Unpaid 2023 Property taxes become “delinquent” (turned over from local cities and townships) and payable to Kent County Treasurer.
      • 4% administration fee & 1% interest is added
      • 1% interest added on 1st day of every month based on base tax
    • October 1, 2024
      • $15 Certified mailing fee added
    • March 3, 2025 - FORFEITURE
      • $235 Forfeiture fee. Interest increased to 1.5%, retroactive back to original date of delinquency.
    • September 2, 2025
      • $45 Personal Visit fee added
    • December 2, 2025
      • $50 Publication fee added and insert in Grand Rapids Press.
    • March 31, 2026 - FORECLOSURE
      • Final payment date to avoid foreclosure.
      • ALL REDEMPTION RIGHTS EXPIRE AT END OF BUSINESS DAY!
