Social Media sites help various Kent County departments reach out to the community quickly and concisely. While we provide some communications via social media, you cannot conduct county business using our social media sites.

The purpose of utilizing Social Media is to be a mechanism for communication between Kent County and members of the public. Kent County does not guarantee or warrant that any information posted by users is correct and disclaims any liability whatsoever for any loss or damage resulting from reliance on any such information. Any personal information posted by users on County's Social Medial presence may constitute a waiver of any rights to privacy or confidentiality. The County reserves the right to remove content posted by users including statements, links, videos, images, and documents that are deemed in violation of this policy, any applicable law, and/or based on the criteria listed below:
- Content not related to the particular issue being commented upon;
- Content in support of or opposition to political campaigns or ballot measures;
- Language or content that is considered profane, defamatory, or harassing;
- Content that promotes or perpetuates discrimination;
- Sexual content or links to sexual content;
- Solicitations of commerce;
- Conduct or encouragement of illegal activity;
- Information that may tend to compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems; or
- Content that violates a legal ownership interest of any other party.
Any content removed based on the criteria listed above shall be referred to appropriate legal personnel, and shall include the time, date and identity of the user, if available.
