The first North Kent County PFAS Exposure Assessment clinic was held December 8, 2018. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and the Kent County Health Department (KCHD) are conducting the assessment. A number of local residents participated in the clinic. Residents who participated responded to a questionnaire and provided a blood sample, which will be tested for 24 PFAS compounds. Clinics will continue in 2019. MDHHS will continue sending letters and making phone calls to residents who are eligible to participate in the assessment. Eligible residents include those whose wells were tested by or on behalf of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and who have lived in their residence on or before January 1, 2018. Clinics will continue in January and coming months.
