Water and Sewer Operations
Water and Sewer Operations division is broken down into two groups:
- Construction and Construction Inspection:
All proposed water and wastewater treatment and distribution system construction activities within the Department of Public Works service areas are reviewed for conformance with County, State, and Federal design standards and approved by staff. Approved plans and specifications are then sent to the appropriate State agency for approval and construction permit issuance. All new construction of water distribution and wastewater collection systems are inspected by Department field inspectors.
- Operation and Maintenance:
The Operation and Maintenance department employs State of Michigan licensed operators to operate and maintain both water and sewer systems in the service area. Emergency response is provided on a 24-hour basis for the entire service area.
