Styrofoam and Packaging Materials

Styrofoam products, including packing material and peanuts, meat trays, cups and plates, are not recyclable through the Kent County residential recycling program. While Styrofoam is a type of #6 polystyrene plastic, there are no accessible markets for Styrofoam recycling.

Disposal:

Some companies can re-use Styrofoam packing material that is clean. Do not include Styrofoam that has been used for food purposes (meat trays, cups, plates).
