Ink Jet Cartridge & Cell Phone Recycling Fundraiser

You can either request a roll of the postage pre-paid bags to distribute from an organization that’s already signed up (like the Michigan Recycling Coalition – 517-327-9207), or you can sign yourself up to receive the reimbursement directly. Be sure to ask what happens to the cartridges when the recycling company receives them. (Some questions to ask include: Are they recycled? Are any of the components landfilled? Do you send any components overseas?)

Elmers Glue Container Recycling

Create a collection receptacle from a corrugated cardboard box for collecting empty glue bottles and glue sticks in your classroom. Once full, close up the box and print the official Elmer’s Glue Crew Recycling Program mailing label and affix to the outside of the box. Bring your full receptacle of empty glue containers to your nearest Wal-Mart beginning Earth Day, April 22, 2008, and give it to one of the Wal-Mart People Greeters.
