Daryl Delabbio has been the County Administrator/Controller of Kent County since September 1998. From September 1995 to September 1998, he served as Assistant County Administrator. He was City Manager of Rockford, Michigan for 11 years, and held administrative positions with two other Michigan communities from 1977 to 1984. Daryl holds a BA in political science and a Master of Management from Aquinas College, a Master of Public Administration from Wayne State University, and a Ph.D. from Western Michigan University. He is active in numerous professional and civic organizations, including the Michigan Local Government Management Association (President in 2001), International City/County Management Association (Nominating Committee 2001; Awards Evaluation Panel 2002-2005, Chair 2004-05; Credentialing Advisory Board, 2008-2011), and Michigan Association of County Administrative Officers (currently Vice-President). Daryl serves on the Boards of Directors of The Right Place, Inc., West Michigan Strategic Alliance, Grand Valley Metropolitan Council, Grand Valley State University School of Public and Non-Profit Administration Advisory Board, and Spectrum Health Healthier Communities Community Commitment Advisory Committee. He has been an adjunct faculty member at Wayne State University, Grand Valley State University, Western Michigan University, and currently serves as adjunct faculty for Davenport University. Daryl has been married to Connie since 1977, an elementary school teacher in the Rockford (Michigan) Public School System, and they have three beautiful daughters and one handsome son-in-law.
