Kent County Animal Shelter Reminds Citizens to Get Their 2005 Dog Licenses By the March 1st Deadline

(Grand Rapids, MI) -- The deadline for Kent County residents to purchase their 2005 Dog Licenses is Tuesday, March 1, 2005. In an effort to help residents meet the deadline, the Kent County Animal Shelter will extend their hours of operation on Saturday, February 26, 2005, from 8:00am to 2:00pm.

Dog owners can also purchase licenses on-line through the Animal Shelter’s web site at www.accesskent.com/kcas by selecting the “Licensing Information” link on that page. Owner’s address information and dog’s rabies vaccinations must be current to register online. The Animal Shelter is waiving web site service fees for all on-line dog license renewals.

Licenses are available during normal business hours at the Kent County Animal Shelter, 711 Ball Ave, NE, from 10:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday and 8:00am to 12:00pm on Saturdays. City and township offices (except for the City of Wyoming) are also selling dog licenses until March 1st.

Renewal information can be mailed to: Dog License Renewal, 711 Ball Avenue, NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, without penalty as long as your renewal is postmarked on or before March 1st. Dog license fees range from $9.00 to $20.00, depending on the spay/neuter status of your pet. Discounts are available for senior citizens. For more information please call 616-336-3210.
