The Kent County Board of Commissioners is seeking citizens interested in serving the community through appointment to one of its boards or committees. Any County resident may apply by completing a resume form and sending (or faxing) it to:

Listed below are those boards and committees that have citizen openings for terms effective January 1, 2006:
- Aeronautics Board
- Agricultural Preservation Board (2 openings: one with “agricultural interest” and one “township representative”)
- Area Agency on Aging of Region VIII - Advisory Council
- Area Agency on Aging of Region VIII - Board of Directors
- Community Health Advisory Committee (one physician opening)
- County Building Authority
- Family Independence Agency (term begins 11/1/05)
- Friend of the Court Advisory Committee (one member of general public and one custodial parent)
- Housing Commission
- John Ball Zoo Advisory Board
- Jury Commission
- Kent County Family & Children’s Coordinating Council (openings available to citizens who meet the following criteria: two private funding slots and four advocate/consumer slots)
- Kent District Library Board (one opening for citizens who live in Region 4 - Bowne, Lowell and Vergennes Township and City of Lowell; and one opening for Region 8 - City of Wyoming)
- Kent Hospital Finance Authority
- Millennium Park Architectural Review Board (one member from the business community and one member from the design community)
