Kent County Animal Shelter Reminds Citizens to Get Their 2005 Dog License Renewing On-line Available With No Additional Service Fees

The Kent County Animal Shelter is making it easy for clients to purchase their 2005 Dog License by the March 1st deadline. A dog license can be renewed on-line at www.accesskent.com/services and the Web site service fees are waived for all on-line dog license renewals. To renew on-line, your current address and telephone number must be the same as that which appears on the renewal card. A dog’s rabies vaccination must also be current and on file with the Animal Shelter for at least thirty days beyond the date of purchase.

The Kent County Animal Shelter will extend their hours of operation on Saturday, February 26, 2005, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., to give clients a chance to beat the March 1st deadline. Licensing clinics at local veterinarian offices are also being scheduled, and additional information regarding these clinics will be available in January. A complete listing of clinics can be obtained after January 1, 2005, by contacting the Animal Shelter or visiting www.accesskent.com/services.

Licenses are available year-round at the Kent County Animal Shelter, 711 Ball Ave, NE, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturdays. Licenses are also available throughout the year at The Kent County Health Department’s Environmental Health Division, 700 Fuller, NE, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. City and township offices (except for the City of Wyoming) sell dog licenses until March 1, 2005. You may also mail your renewal information to: Dog License Renewal, 711 Ball Avenue, NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, without penalty as long as your renewal is postmarked on or before March 1, 2005. Dog license fees range from $9.00 to $20.00, depending on the spay/neuter status of your pet. Discounts are available for senior citizens. For more information please call 616-336-3210.
