The Kent County Board of Commissioners is seeking citizens interested in serving the community through appointment to one of its boards or committees. Any County resident may apply by completing a resume form and sending (or faxing) it to:

All citizens are urged to apply! Deadline to return the form is September 26, 2003.
Listed below are those boards and committees that have citizen openings for terms effective January 1, 2004:
- Aeronautics Board
- Area Agency on Aging of Region VIII - Advisory Council
- Area Agency on Aging of Region VIII - Board of Directors
- City/County Building Authority
- Community Corrections Advisory Board (media representative)
- Community Health Advisory Committee (two physician openings)
- Community Mental Health Authority Board (term begins 4/1/04)
- County Building Authority
- Friend of the Court Advisory Committee (two openings - one to be an advocate for children and one an attorney who engages primarily in family law)
- Housing Commission
- John Ball Zoo Advisory Board
- Kent Community Hospital Corp. - Board of Trustees
- Kent County Family & Children's Coordinating Council (openings available to citizens who meet the following criteria: private agency)
- Kent District Library Board (openings available for citizens who live in the following townships: Algoma, Cannon, Courtland, Grattan, Caledonia, Gaines, and Cities of Rockford and Kentwood)
- Kent Hospital Finance Authority
- Officers' Compensation Commission
- Pension Board
