Target Population
First time parenting families with children ages 0 – 3 years, as determined by the Healthy Start assessment tool.
Services
Family Assessment workers meet with first time parents to assess their needs and will refer them to another component of the Healthy Start Program. After an assessment, parents can receive either supportive and informational phone calls or a Family Support worker into their home from one of our three collaborating agencies. Information received from either of these components will include:
- Basic Health teaching
- Assistance with child care and transportation
- Modeling of non-abusive child management skills
- Information and referrals
- Assistance accessing community services
- Other assistance, as appropriate
