Campground Sanitation

Child Care and Adult Foster Care

Inspection program to ensure sanitary conditions at child care and adult foster care facilities, conducted in cooperation with the Michigan Family Independence Agency. Mobile Home Park

Inspection program to ensure that mobile home park facilities, including well and septic systems, are safe and sanitary. Concerns regarding the sanitary conditions of a particular mobile home park can be reported by calling (616) 632-6900.

Public Swimming Pool Sanitation

Inspection and licensing program to ensure public swimming pools are maintained in safe and sanitary conditions. Public swimming pools are required by law to be licensed. Concerns regarding the sanitation of a particular public swimming pool can be reported by calling (616) 632-6900.

Public Water Supplies

Inspection and permit program for non-municipal water supply systems which provide water to 25 or more people at least 60 days per year (i.e. motels, factories, schools which are not on municipal water systems). Water Quality Protection

Ground Water Protection

Well Water Testing

Program to evaluate drinking water quality through laboratory analysis to detect chemical and/or bacteriological contamination. Cost: $15.00 bacteriological, $17.00 partial chemical (Payable at Health Department Laboratory when samples are submitted). Water Supply Evaluations and Lead Analysis

A water supply evaluation performed by the Kent County Health Department consists of a review of well construction, location, and water quality. Water samples for bacteriological and partial chemical analysis are collected and analyzed by the Kent County Laboratory.
