Health Improvement Program

Cholesterol & Blood Pressure Screening Services | Educational Services | Walking Into Wellness (WIW)

The Health Improvement Program (HIP) offers a variety of wellness services for adults in Kent County. The goal of HIP is to help people improve their health and well-being through wellness screenings and education.

Cholesterol & Blood Pressure Screening Services

  • Cholesterol testing (total cholesterol, HDL “good” cholesterol, LDL “bad” cholesterol & triglycerides)
  • Blood pressure and pulse measurement
  • Heart disease, diabetes and stroke risk factor assessment
  • Immediate results explained in a comprehensiveWellness Report

Must fast for 12 hours prior to your appointment – drink plenty of plain water and take medication as usual. Pregnancy and lactation may cause inaccuracies in screening results. If you are pregnant, had a baby within the last four months, or are currently lactating (breast feeding or producing milk for breast feeding), we are unable to screen you. Please wait to schedule an appointment for when you will be able to be screened. There is a $30 fee (cash or check).
