Purpose

Assessment of community needs, overall publicity and long-range planning.

The Coordinating Committee, providing ENTF leadership from government, human service and faith-based sectors met on June 1, 2007 to review accomplishments, basic needs demands and proposals for continuing action.

The Committee endorsed Subcommittee 2007-2008 agendas presented here and made the following recommendations:

  • The Coordinating Committee endorsed ideas in the Next Steps for the Next 25 Years discussion paper it accepted. Within parameters of the current, independently flexible ENTF design, it requested that the ENTF Leadership Subcommittee work with the Task Force to pursue those concepts that will provide sustainable resources for more effective Subcommittee work. In the coming years, attacking both basic needs emergencies and root causes of poverty in Kent County must be addressed.
  • The Coordinating Committee requested closer involvement in ENTF Subcommittee work via more frequent electronic updates, in addition to the annual review meeting and any special meetings addressing immediate, crisis issues.
