The L.E. Kaufman Golf Course opened for play in 1965 and has an outstanding reputation as a challenging golf facility. It is the home course for the highly regarded Kent County Amateur Golf Tournament...but that's not all!
L.E. Kaufman Golf Course doesn't shut down completely during the winter months. Once there is a minimum of 4 inches of snow on the ground, the golf course and Palmer Park open up for cross country skiing. You can choose to ski the open course with its gently rolling hills or go through the wooded trails within Palmer Park. All are accessible from the clubhouse.
At the clubhouse you can rent skis, boots and poles. There is also a snackbar. There is a $2.00 trail fee to help maintain the groomed course. The clubhouse and trail is open from 9:00am until 5:00pm, daily. To ask about trail conditions, call the clubhouse at (616) 538-5050.
