Gordon Park was the first park in the Kent County system. It was acquired in 1924 from the State of Michigan and quickly became a popular stopover for travelers. It has a faithful following of annual picnickers.

Park activities and facilities include: ball diamond, hiking/walking, picnicking, playground, and restrooms.
