New Boating Center

Construction will begin this summer on a new boating center adjacent to the beach area at Millennium Park. This new facility is made possible through generous contributions from second generation members of the DeVos family. The boating center is scheduled to open in spring 2011 and will offer kayaks, paddle boats, row boats and canoes for rent.

In addition to the south section of the Lake Leota near the beach, boaters also will be able to explore the north section of the lake, by paddling under a trail bridge. An elevated boardwalk will connect the new boating center to the beach area, near the Splashpad.

Private Boats In order to protect the lakes at Millennium Park from the threat of invasive species, private boats currently are not allowed to launch from park property.
