Fingerprinting

If you need to be fingerprinted for licensing or job related activities, you may report to the Sheriff Departments Records Division main office during the posted business hours. You must have your Michigan Driver's License or a Michigan State ID card with your current address on it. You must be a township resident in Kent County. There is a $15 fee per card for this service. Additional state fees may also apply.

Fingerprinting must be completed for various statutory reasons. Some of those purposes are for criminal justice employment, employment of teachers and those applying for a concealed pistol license processing. It takes approximately fifteen minutes to do fingerprints in an applicant setting. The person taking the fingerprints needs to type all the biographical information and walk the person through the process. Fingerprinting is completed on livescan equipment at the main office.
