Personal & Professional Visitation
Do you have a family member or friend lodged at the Kent County Jail you wish to visit or contact? Below is some helpful information.
Special Notes
All visitations are via video and subject to unforeseen lock-down and other situations which may postpone or cancel all visitations.
Cell phones and other electronic recording devices are prohibited in the video visitation area. Lockers are available for storage of personal items. The cost to use a locker is twenty-five (25) cents, quarters only. Change is available at the jail. The quarter will be refunded after the locker key is returned.
Personal Visitation
A person wishing to visit can call the scheduled visitation line at (616) 632-6383 seven (7) days a week between the hours of 9:00 a.m and 9:00 p.m, by walking into the Kent County Correctional Facility Visiting/Information Desk, or by using the Renovo Visitor Web (after a one time registration process is completed in person, or by using the scheduled visitation line. An email address and password will be required for the web registration process to be completed). Visits must be scheduled 24 hours to 5 days in advance. Any visitor under 17 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Visitors must present to staff a valid, pictured government—issued I.D. to verify their identity. Visitors will adhere to certain rules of dress. High cut shorts, halter-tops, low cut dresses or blouses and tank tops will not be allowed. Shirt and footwear must also be worn. You must check in 15 minutes prior to your scheduled visit time. Visitors arriving late will only receive the balance of the remaining visiting time, or may not be allowed to visit, dependent on circumstances.

General Population & Juvenile Inmate Visitation
General population inmates will receive one (1) visit per week. These visits will not exceed forty-five (45) minutes in length. Only two (2) visitors will be allowed per visit.
Visiting hours for general population which include pre-arraigned and juvenile inmates will take place Wednesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. till 10:00 a.m.; 1:00 p.m. till 3:00 p.m.; and 6:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m.
Trustee Personal Visits
Working trustees will receive three (3) forty-five (45) minute visits per week. Only two (2) visitors will be allowed per visit.
Visiting hours for trustees will take place only in the evening Monday through Sunday from 6:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m.
Married Inmates (Inside the Facility) Visitation
Married inmates will be allowed to visit when both are incarcerated. Married inmate shall be responsible to prove they are legally married. Married inmates will be limited to using one forty-five (45) minute visit per week.
Hospitalized Inmate Visitation
An inmate that has been admitted into the hospital will not be allowed visitors. Attorney or emergency visits due to serious medical conditions must be approved by an on duty Shift Sergeant only. These approved visits are subject to the hospital’s visitation rules. The person wishing to visit must come to the visiting/information desk at the Kent County Correctional Facility to register. The visiting/information staff will not give the pass to the visitor without the Deputy at the hospital giving the final approval. The visitor, upon arriving at the inmate’s hospital room, must present to the Deputy a valid, pictured government-issued I.D. to verify their identity.
Administrative Segregation Visitation
Inmates housed in administrative segregation unit will receive one (1) visit per week. These visits will not exceed thirty (30) minutes in length. Only two (2) visitors will be allowed to visit.
Visiting for the administrative segregation units will take place on Friday, Saturday, and Sundays only. The visiting times are 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
Community Reentry Center Visitation
Visiting hours for the Community Reentry Center (CRC) are Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. till 11:00 a.m.; 1 p.m. till 3:00 p.m.; and 6 p.m. till 10 p.m. Residents of the facility must initiate the visiting process by registering for a specific visiting time for a visit.
Attorneys and ministers may visit between the hours of 8 a.m till 10:00 p.m. everyday.
Professional Visitation
Professional visitors wishing to visit must come to the visiting/information desk at the Kent County Correctional Facility and register. A valid approved issued I.D. must be presented to staff. Professional visitors without any of the following listed approved I.D’s must get prior approval to visit an inmate from Jail Administration by calling (616) 632-6401 or Inmate Service Administrator by calling (616) 632-6379.

Professional visitors will not be allowed access without approved ID or pre-approval from Jail Administration.
Professional visitors will be allowed to visit from 8 a.m. till 11:00 a.m.; 1:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m.; and 6:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m.
