Unit A – Video Visitation Addition
Unit A is progressing toward completion as we are well into the finishing stage of construction. The walls have been painted and the doors will be hung this week. After the doors are hung, the painter will complete the painting and we will install hardware. The ceiling grid has been hung and is awaiting installation of the light fixtures to complete the acoustical tiles. The carpet is installed in the professional booths and the polished concrete in the video visitation area is complete and protected. The only open flooring item is the terrazzo patching. The hook-up of the Air Handling Unit (AHU) in this area continues. The Video Visitation System (VVS) contractor is pulling wire for the individual stations which are scheduled to arrive at a later date.
On the exterior of this Unit, final grading and seeding will be completed by the end of the week.
Unit A is scheduled to be completed December 2010.
Unit H – Renovation
Work on H2:
Renovation work on H2 is well underway and will incorporate some necessary changes requested by the owner. Despite some modifications to the floor plan to accommodate the versatility of housing a female population in the H2A dormitory, masonry is scheduled to be complete by the end of this week and block fill has begun. Mechanical and electrical rough-ins continue as we finalize the block. The Detention Equipment contractor is finalizing the installation of all security frames and doors. The framing of the light monitors (skylights) is complete and the security mesh at these locations is in process. The LPDA contractor has begun framing bulkheads, which kicks off our interior finishes. Bunks for this Unit are in the early stages of fabrication. On October 4, we will be shutting down the elevator to begin demolition of the interior cab.
Window infill, with the exception of the access openings, is complete. The re-roof of Unit H is scheduled to begin October 7.
Work on H1M:
Work on the H1M Level is scheduled to be completed by October 8. Work continues in the Medical area as we pursue the required “above ceiling” inspections. After receiving these inspections, we will restore the ceiling and work will be complete. The Kitchen ceiling is complete with the exception of minor finishes. The ceiling and walls are scheduled to be painted beginning Tuesday, October 7. This process will last two days and be followed by the installation of lights and diffusers.
Unit H renovation is scheduled to be completed January 01, 2011.
Mechanical Courtyard
The mechanical Courtyard piping has been adjusted on the schedule to begin in the spring of 2011. At this time, wewill be installing the new generator.
Unit D – Renovation
Renovation work is scheduled to begin October 2010 and completed December 2010.
Units L and M – New Construction
Prep work for this new construction continues with site utility relocations and storm sewer re-routing. Relocation of the heating and electrical feeds will begin this fall. Re-routing of site utilities for Units K and D is scheduled for January 2011. Demolition of Units E and G West to accommodate the new construction is scheduled to begin Mid-January 2011. Construction of the new units is scheduled to be completed August 2012.
Site Restoration
Demolition of Unit F and G will begin September 2012, followed by exterior wall repairs of Units H and K. Grading, seeding, and site fencing will commence November 2012.
All construction is scheduled to be completed December 01, 2012.
