Community Reentry Center / Work Release Center
|
The Sheriff operates a Community Reentry Center for male and female participants. The center houses 248 residents. The focus of the center is to promote a smooth transition from incarceration into the community. Life skills programming, Job Training, High School and College participation can be obtained while at the "CRC". Many residents have jobs in the community while others are job searching and taking advantage of the many programs offered at the CRC. The programs are designed to encourage personal change, better decision making and the development of skills that will enable a resident to return to society in a positive productive manner. Those residents that are working at jobs in the community are able to support their families, while paying a portion of their wages to the county for the cost of their incarceration. Community Reentry Center VisitingVisiting hours for the CRC are Saturday and Sunday 8-11 AM, and 1-3 PM, and 6-9 PM. Residents of the facility must initiate the visiting process by registering for a specific visiting time for the visit. Attorneys and ministers may visit between the hours of 8 AM-10 PM every day. Consideration is given for emergent situations and out of town visitors. Mail Correspondence Kent County Community Reentry Center
