Michigan Arrears Collection Special (MACS) Project

The MACS program has been extended until June 30, 2006. MACS is an opportunity for qualifying payers to receive a 75% savings on the arrearages they owe to the State of Michigan. To qualify for MACS, your case cannot be charging current support.

Under MACS, if you pay: 100% of non-qualifying past-due support owed to the State, 100% of past-due support owed to a custodial party or another state, 100% of past-due fees owed to the Friend of the Court, and 25% of qualifying past-due support owed to the State of Michigan, then 75% of the arrears owed to the State will be forgiven.

Qualifying past-due support is: child support, child care, and spousal support owed to the State of Michigan.

Non-qualifying past-due support is: genetic test expenses, medical support, foster care reimbursement, and recovery accounts for misapplied payments, returned payments and tax adjustments owed to the State of Michigan.

To apply for MACS, you’ll need to read the agreement form, fill it out, enclose your payment and mail it to:
